After meeting up in Barcelona, we will tour Barcelona to visit the Columbus Monument and La Rambla, followed by Sagrada Família.

Then it's on to photo stop at Camp Nou. We'll also visit Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, the main stadium for the 1992 Summer Olympics located in Montjuïc, a large hill to the southwest of Barcelona which overlooks the city views.

The remaining time is spent in the bustling Plaza Catalonia, where you can have free time and do some shopping.

Monument a Colom

The Columbus Monument (Monument a Colom) is a 60 m tall monument to Christopher Columbus at the lower end of La Rambla, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It was constructed for the Exposición Universal de Barcelona (1888) in honor to Columbus first voyage to the Americas. The monument serves as a reminder that Christopher Columbus reported to Queen Isabella I and King Ferdinand V in Barcelona after his first trip to the new continent.

Sagrada Família

The Basilica and Expiatory Church of the Holy Family (Sagrada Família) is a large Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, designed by Catalan Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926). Gaudí's work on the building is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and in November 2010 Pope Benedict XVI consecrated and proclaimed it a minor basilica, as distinct from a cathedral, which must be the seat of a bishop.

Plaça de Catalunya

Catalonia Square is a large square in central Barcelona that is generally considered to be both its city centre and the place where the old city (see Barri Gòtic and Raval, in Ciutat Vella) and the 19th century-built Eixample meet. The plaza occupies an area of about 50,000 square metres. It is especially known for its fountains and statues, its proximity to some of Barcelona's most popular attractions, and the flocks of pigeons that gather in the centre.

Alhambra Palace

The Alhambra Palace is a palace and fortress complex located in Granada. It was originally constructed as a small fortress in AD 889 on the remains of Roman fortifications, and then largely ignored until its ruins were renovated and rebuilt in the mid-13th century by the Moorish emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar of the Emirate of Granada, who built its current palace and walls. It was converted into a royal palace in 1333 by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada. After the conclusion of the Christian Reconquista in 1492, the site became the Royal Court of Ferdinand and Isabella (where Christopher Columbus received royal endorsement for his expedition), and the palaces were partially altered to Renaissance tastes.
